Tax Tip: You Still Can Make a 2006 IRA Contribution

If you’ve been thinking about making a contribution to your IRA for 2006 but just haven't gotten around to it. It may not be too late!

You can contribute to either a traditional or Roth IRA until the April due date for filing your tax return for 2006, not including extensions.

Be sure to tell the IRA trustee that the contribution is for 2006. Otherwise, the trustee may report the contribution as being for 2007 when they get your funds.
